Biswajit Mitra is a seasoned global techno-commercial leader with over 35 years of experience in the life sciences industry, spanning Pharma Formulations, Active Pharma Ingredients, Biotech, and Custom Synthesis. Since 2018, he has been serving as the Chief Mentoring Officer of Cadila Pharmaceuticals and as Whole-Time Director of CPL Pharma Pvt. Ltd, where he provides strategic, business, and operational leadership to drive growth and transformational change. With more than two decades of collaboration with global innovators and multinationals in the CDMO space, he is widely recognized for shaping partnerships and building differentiated capabilities. He has held CXO and senior leadership roles across leading multinationals and Indian business houses, including Sandoz, Novartis, Laporte UK–Piramal JV, Dr. Reddy’s Laboratories, Jubilant Life Sciences, and Chemo Pharmaceuticals (Spain). His expertise covers global business expansion, operational excellence, Strategy and cross-cultural team integration. A recipient of numerous national and international awards, Biswajit has served on the Board of ISPE of USA, chaired industry committees at the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), and contributed as Vice-Chairperson of the Technical Committee of the Indian Pharmaceutical Congress. He also mentors emerging entrepreneurs through i-Hub, Government of Gujarat, Ministry of Education. An alumnus of Calcutta University in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry (Hons.) and the Illustrious Alumni Award winner, Biswajit is a Fellow of the Institute of Engineers (FIE) and a Chartered Engineer. He has attended executive programs at leading business schools and is a frequent speaker at national and international forums.
